FALLA Imaginado is a project by pianist and composer Moisés P. Sánchez, presenting a contemporary reinterpretation of Manuel de Falla's work and bridging tradition with a free, modern vision. Through his arrangements and an original suite, M. P. Sánchez explores the work of M. de Falla. He utilizes harmonic thinking and a structural approach, as well as influences from jazz, symphonic rock, classical music, and French impressionism.
Commemorating the 150th anniversary of M. de Falla's birth, the program created in 2026 features the composer's most famous works – "La vida breve", "El amor brujo" – and lesser-known opuses such as "Nocturne", "Fantasia baetica", and "Mazurka". All are adapted for a trio format and presented in a contemporary, innovative musical language. Improvisation is an essential element here, naturally growing out of the composition, blurring the line between written and spontaneous music created in the here and now.
Having invited internationally acclaimed musicians – violinist Ana María Valderrama and double bassist Pablo Martín Caminero – M. P. Sánchez has formed a trio in which each performer reveals a unique creative vision. Together, they offer the listener new interpretations of M. de Falla's multifaceted world, encompassing both a spontaneous sound and the lesser-known, more abstract side of the composer's work.
FALLA Imaginado is an invitation to hear M. de Falla anew, a vibrant, highly musical journey through his timeless creative legacy.
