Europos Parkas is an exceptional museum, unique in its collection, landscape, and special aura.
Renowned artist Magdalena Abakanowicz once said: "Europos Parkas is a place where the art of the whole world and the people of the whole world meet."
Europos Parkas is an open-air museum of modern and contemporary art, operating since 1991. Its founder is Gintaras Karosas, a sculptor and the creator of the entire artistic landscape of the museum. In 1987, at the age of nineteen, he discovered a suitable location for the park near Vilnius, which was then an abandoned forest, and in 1991, in one of the first cleared clearings, he erected a sculpture marking the beginning of Europos Parkas.
Europos Parkas is the first non-governmental museum in Lithuania. In its 55-hectare artistic landscape, over a hundred works by artists from various countries around the world are exhibited. Here, the geographical center of the European continent, determined by the French National Geographic Institute, is given meaning through the language of art.
