The YOUNG CRITIC program invites students in grades 9–12 to get a closer look at the world of contemporary circus – to watch performances at the HELIUM festival, analyze them together with the program mentor, contemporary circus creator Aino Mäkipää, and meet with the creators of the performances for a joint discussion. The goals of the "Young Critic" program are: To introduce students to different contemporary performing arts and expand their artistic and cultural horizons; To provide a wealth of knowledge about different performing arts disciplines and festival organization; To ensure students have the opportunity to meet and interact with foreign creators and international festival organizers; To create a safe and friendly space where students can learn to express their thoughts, evaluate the performing arts shows they have seen, and discuss them; To interest them in the long-term activities carried out by the Arts Printing House (Menų spaustuvė). SCENOS konTEKSTAI (STAGE conTEXTS) aims to expand the circle of professionals writing about contemporary performing arts festivals: to watch and discuss performances together with the program mentor, performing arts critic Ugnė Kačkauskaitė, and the troupes participating in the festival, and to participate in review-writing seminars. The goal of "SCENOS konTEKSTAI" is to increase the number of professionals writing about contemporary performing arts festivals, to encourage their interest in non-traditional genres, and the opportunity: To become critics writing about three festivals organized by the Arts Printing House and to publish texts on menuspaustuve.lt and other platforms; To better understand the niche performing arts presented at festivals, such as contemporary circus, contemporary street theater, and contemporary theater for children; To watch and, together with the creative groups of the troupes participating in the festivals, discuss the performances seen during the festivals, organized educational activities, and other events; To meet with festival organizers in Lithuania and better understand the specifics of organizing festivals; To participate in seminars for professionals writing about performing arts, intended for participants of the "SCENOS konTEKSTAI" program.
