The protagonists of the romantic comedy "Dating Games," Richard and Julia, have recently officially divorced, but their separation is merely a formality on paper. Having spent many years in marriage, the couple has remained close friends, sincerely wishing each other happiness in new relationships. However, it soon becomes clear that this is much more complicated than it might seem at first glance... Both begin searching for new partners by going on blind dates.
Although dating is a great opportunity to find a significant other, the situation becomes much trickier when you have spent several decades in marriage. Former spouses Richard and Julia face colorful, and sometimes even strange, dating partners. Each new encounter increasingly convinces them that the entire world of dating is like one big misunderstanding.
An increasingly confused Richard and a disappointed Julia would have given up long ago if not for their constant support for one another. Will their efforts to find love again end in total fiasco? Or perhaps they will succeed, and new, beautiful relationships will emerge in their lives?
"Dating Games" is a fun, fast-paced, and bitingly witty comedy about men's and women's attempts to communicate, become infatuated, and, if lucky, survive until a second date. There will be many mistakes, unexpected twists, triumphs, fiascos, and laughter, because love, just like sports, requires endurance, courage, and a little bit of luck.
The play was created by British playwright Peter Quilter, whose works are staged in more than 40 countries, including Broadway and London's West End. P. Quilter is one of the most frequently staged contemporary authors in the world, twice nominated for the prestigious Olivier Award (for Best New Play and Best New Comedy), and his Broadway debut earned three Tony nominations.
