About this event

On July 14th, Nicolás Jaar and "DARKSIDE" return to Vilnius after more than ten years. The concert, taking place in the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes, will be the band's only performance in the Baltic states. When "DARKSIDE" last visited Lithuania, the group had ceased operations and was playing their final concerts. Now, they return with a new lineup and the album "Nothing": Tlacael Esparza has joined Nicolás Jaar and Dave Harrington. The band arrives in Vilnius specifically to present this work. "Nothing" is the third "DARKSIDE" album and the first created as a trio. It was born from improvisations, spontaneous sessions, and a new chemistry between them. Along with this, the logic of the band's sound has changed. The album features more freedom, more physical pulse, and more openness to the unexpected. Critics have already called "Nothing" the strongest "DARKSIDE" work to date ("Stereogum"). "Billboard" wrote that it is an album reflecting the restless state of the modern world and responding to it with one of the band's most vibrant creative forms. "Pitchfork" described it as a pulsing, raw, and hopeful response to the chaos of 2020. From "Psychic" to "Spiral," "DARKSIDE" has always created music that does not easily yield to definitions. It brings together electronica, psychedelia, dub, guitar expression, and a constantly changing song form. "Nothing" continues this direction and opens a new chapter for the band. It sounds darker, freer, and even more confident. In the Grand Courtyard of the Palace of the Grand Dukes, this concert will be a rare opportunity to experience live a band that, after a long silence, has returned with new energy, a new album, and that same unique ability to create music out of tension, space, and sensation.
