International Contemporary Art Fair "ArtVilnius’26"
The 17th International Contemporary Art Fair "ArtVilnius’26" will take place from October 1–4, 2026, at the Lithuanian Exhibition and Congress Centre "Litexpo". "ArtVilnius" is the largest international art fair in the Baltic region, presenting the contemporary art scene and inviting visitors to meet the most interesting Lithuanian and foreign galleries, artists, curators, and representatives of art institutions.
Every year, about 70 galleries and institutions from more than 20 countries participate in the fair, with the number of visitors reaching about 21,000–23,000. The list of fair participants will be announced in July. The fair director is Diana Stomienė, and the artistic director is Sonata Baliuckaitė Arlauskienė. The organizer is the public institution "ArtVilnius" of the Lithuanian Art Gallerists Association.
Focus – Vilnius, Warsaw, Vienna At the international fair "ArtVilnius’26", special attention will be paid to three art capitals – Vilnius, Warsaw, and Vienna. This year's fair theme will allow visitors to get a broader insight into the contemporary art scene of the three European capitals, listen to the cultural dialogue of these cities, recall shared historical experiences, and get to know today's art trends.
Projects Zone In Hall 4 of "Litexpo", a Projects Zone will be set up, which this year will be curated by Neringa Bumblienė, director of the Nida Art Colony of the Vilnius Academy of Arts and artistic director and curator of the Vilnius Performance Art Biennial. She states that the Projects Zone this year draws a diagonal in the westward direction from Vilnius and connects the art scenes of three capitals in our wider region. Each of them – Vilnius, Warsaw, and Vienna – has a specific history, artists, and actively working institutions. An unusual perspective, juxtaposing Vilnius with Warsaw and Vienna, expands the established boundaries defining our region, allows for the discovery of unexpected connections and differences, and also enables us to look at both ourselves and others in our closer or more distant neighborhood from different perspectives.
"Takas" Exhibition The fair will feature the traditional international exhibition of sculptures and installations "Takas", in which individual artists selected by the guest curator – art curator and writer Aliaksei Barysionak from Vienna – will participate.
Additional Program The "ArtVilnius’26" artistic program will be complemented by discussions, lectures, presentations of art publications, an educational program, and guided tours led by art critics. As in previous years, a guest jury will select the best participants of the fair. This year, you will also find a "Young Collector" stand at the fair with artworks selected by curators, priced at no more than 1,000 euros. During the fair, a series of talks and discussions titled "ArtVilnius Talks" will also take place.
The "ArtVilnius’26" project is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture, under the patronage of Vilnius City Municipality, with the law firm "Cobalt" as the patron and "Eika Group" as the general partner.
