When jazz meets contemporary music, improvisation becomes a language and rhythm becomes a story.
On August 29, the international project "Unity," led by Cypriot pianist, keyboardist, and composer Christos Yerolatsitis, will perform on the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB stage for the first time.
This is a meeting of four exceptional European musicians on one stage. Joining Christos will be one of the most prominent saxophonists in the Baltic states, Toms Rudzinskis, drummer Stelios Xydias, and bassist Cahit Kutrafali – performers whose musical experience bridges different cultures, traditions, and contemporary jazz directions.
"Unity's" music is born between free improvisation, hypnotic rhythms, and sensitive melodies. It is contemporary jazz where complex musical ideas are conveyed easily and naturally, making the concert engaging not only for jazz fans but for anyone seeking a live, emotional, and authentic musical experience.
Each piece is like a living dialogue between the musicians, where spontaneity merges with precise arrangements, and energy shifts into calm, introspective moments. It is precisely this balance that gives the project its name, "Unity" – a unity born from different voices.
If you enjoy EST, Tigran Hamasyan, GoGo Penguin, Esbjörn Svensson Trio (e.s.t.), or contemporary European jazz, this concert will become one of the most striking musical events of the summer.
One evening. Four world-class musicians. Music that connects people without words.
The concert project is partially funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
