Performers: ČIURLIONIO KVARTETAS DUO BANDINI–CHIACCHIARETTA (Italy): GIAMPAOLO BANDINI (guitar), CESARE CHIACCHIARETTA (bandoneon)
Program features – Ástor Piazzolla, Steve Goss
The passion of Argentine tango, the refined sound of the guitar, the trembling notes of the bandoneon, accompanied by the subtle support of a string quartet... This is the mood invited by a concert where good stage friends meet again – the inventive Čiurlionio kvartetas and masters of guitar and bandoneon from Italy – Giampaolo Bandini and Cesare Chiacchiaretta. This duo, formed in 2002, immediately attracted international audiences with their passion for music, communicative power, and personal charm. The duo tours worldwide, receiving audience acclaim, and was awarded the 15th "Beniamino Joppolo" Prize in Patti (Messina, Sicily) for high artistic achievements in the field of music. Their first CD, "Hombres de Tango," received favorable reviews from experts. G. Bandini and C. Chiacchiaretta are guest professors at academies and universities, teaching at the Luigi Boccherini School in Lucca and the Tito Schipa School in Lecce, and conducting masterclasses at summer festivals in Gubbio, Portogruaro, and elsewhere.
Together with the Čiurlionio kvartetas, the duo has prepared a program of music by Ástor Piazzolla and Steve Goss, breathing with longing, which, once immersed in, makes the worries and routine of everyday life fade away.
