Jazz Cellar 11 invites you to a jazz evening dedicated to one of the most prominent icons of cool jazz – Chet Baker. This concert will honor the exceptional musical legacy of the trumpeter, vocalist, and composer, whose subtle sound, fragile vocals, and unique lyricism continue to captivate jazz fans around the world.

Chet Baker was not only one of the most brilliant musicians of his generation but also a true jazz legend. His music breathes elegance, romance, and melancholy, and his soft trumpet tone and intimate singing style became an inseparable part of the cool jazz sound. Compositions such as My Funny Valentine and I Fall in Love Too Easily are still considered timeless jazz classics.

Behind the stage lights, Baker's life was turbulent and full of contrasts – constant concerts, worldwide fame, addictions, dramatic life turns, and an endless struggle with himself. One of his biographers once said: "Baker was a great artist with great problems." However, it was precisely this fragility and sincerity that gave his music an exceptional emotional depth that still moves listeners today.

This evening, Chet Baker's music will be presented by his admirer, trumpeter Vytautas Skudas.
