Another big piece of news! Australian music phenomenon Tash Sultana returns to Lithuania

The music agency “8 Days A Week” recently announced news about another visit by Benjamin Clementine to Vilnius, and today they are sharing more wonderful news. It has been confirmed that Australian music phenomenon Tash Sultana is returning to the capital on August 16. Vilnius has once again become a stop on Tash Sultana’s European tour.

On the Žolinė weekend, Tash Sultana awaits the already familiar and unique Lukiškės Prison complex, where such concerts are increasingly taking place.

The “Return To The Roots” tour is the biggest yet in Tash Sultana’s already impressive career. It is a kind of reflection on the past and the beginning of a new chapter. “We are creating a new sound production. A powerful tour is coming, opening up a new live concert experience,” teases Tash Sultana.

Tash Sultana does not subscribe to any gender labels. Regardless of how ill-suited the Lithuanian language is for this, we respect this wish of Tash Sultana, so in the communication for this concert, we will refer to Tash Sultana as they / them / their. Please don’t be angry, dear VLKK.

“Clash” states that Tash Sultana has discovered a sound that belongs only to them. “NME” emphasizes that they break genres while maintaining a subtle vulnerability, and the Australian music magazine “The Music” calls Tash Sultana one of the country’s most interesting songwriters. True, they last performed in Europe in 2023, but that only makes their return to the capital even more significant.

Sultana’s live performances are real, soulful renditions, a state of meditation and ecstasy in which everyone feels free. Everything is real and raw, without templates, without masks, and without makeup. It is hard to believe that one person has so many talents and can do so much on stage. A kind of magic happens. They are fiercely alive, no matter how simple that word may sound. “It seems like their bodies can barely contain the joy of their soul,” writes a fan after one of their concerts. Indeed, the energy radiated by Tash Sultana on stage is an inexhaustible charge.

Tash Sultana is an influential and big music name from Australia. Their music is special because it is loved by very different people. It is not for nothing that they are often introduced as a one-person orchestra. A talented multi-instrumentalist who has masterfully mastered more than a dozen instruments. Millions of streams, various music awards, stages at the world’s biggest festivals, sold-out arena tours, and hundreds of thousands of devoted fans. What more could you want? True, Tash Sultana no longer wants what they have accumulated recently, even if for many musicians it equates to a dream. A little more than 10 years of life on stage and fame invite one to reflect on what comes next and return to one’s roots.

It seems they don’t play for the money. In various interviews, Tash Sultana’s openness is stunning. Perhaps that is why they are so successful.

Advance concert matters

Advance tickets are always cheaper. Ticket sales for Tash Sultana’s performance in the capital will start on Monday, but their fans in Lithuania can already purchase advance tickets. True, this requires a code from “8 Days A Week”. Send a message on Facebook, Instagram, or at www.8dw.lt, and you will be provided with a special code to save money.

Presale is already open! Codes will be valid for a very limited time. Presale closes on December 15 at 11:00 AM. Don’t sleep on it!

Tash Sultana’s latest EP “Return To The Roots”

The main idea behind Tash Sultana’s new mini-album “Return To The Roots” is to shake off the burden of fame, get rid of expectations, and return to their true self. Based on emotional vulnerability, the work explores mental health, resilience, self-discovery, and authenticity. Tash dedicated one of the most beautiful tracks on the new release, “Hold On”, to their wife, who was diagnosed with a serious illness.

More than a decade after the start of their career, Tash looks back at their early music. The looping characteristic of their first tracks can also be heard. “After flirting with popular music, Sultana picks up the guitar again and delves into reggae, folk, and dub music on the new EP. This is how they utilize their strengths,” writes “Rolling Stone”.

“This is a return to the roots. You will never be the same person you were ten or fifteen years ago – and why would you want to be? We must strive to become better. When I first started making music, I was able to disconnect from everything and give in to intuitive creation. I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and realized that back then I didn’t feel the pressure I feel now. No one knew who I was, so I just wrote music and it was almost unaffected by any external factors. It was pure improvisation. Creation for the sake of art. And here it is – after a long time, I managed to do it again,” is how Tash introduces the short album “Return To The Roots”.

Tash Sultana’s first visit to Lithuania in September 2022 truly went down in history. Back then, the large courtyard of Lukiškės Prison could not fit everyone who wanted to attend.

Another classy concert awaits us at a unique cultural heritage site. These are artists you can see several times and be surprised all over again. Take care of your tickets in advance.
