On July 2 at 3:00 PM, an exhibition of works by Jūratė Čibiraitė Bytautienė titled "Between Form and Intuition" will open at the Lithuanian Library of Medicine.
Jūratė Čibiraitė Bytautienė, having completed her medical studies at Vilnius University, worked as a microbiologist at Santara Clinics.
She has always been interested in art, theater, and music. For a long time, she did not dare to draw, as she doubted whether she would succeed.
She recounts that once, caught in the rain, she ran into an art supply store in Žvėrynas. There, she noticed a table. The salesperson explained that the watercolor artist Vija Tarabildienė teaches watercolor painting there. She decided to try it, but when the pandemic began, the lessons stopped. Then, she started drawing on her own. She experiments with various techniques: dry pastel, acrylic, pencils, and others.
Her first exhibition was held in 2023 at the Vilnius TECH library gallery. In 2024, an exhibition was held at the Tomas Zakas library, followed by several other exhibitions in various locations.
Artist Eugenija Martinaitytė and her daughter, fashion designer Dalia, provided much advice and encouragement. Her son Jonas, a graphic designer, helped prepare this exhibition. Her husband Ramūnas handled the framing work.
