The old town of native Vilnius, historical architecture, and natural landscapes are the main sources of inspiration for Vilija Drižienė's work. Many years of experience in the field of cultural heritage have shaped the author's unique perspective on color, light, and the marks left by history, which are revealed in every painting.
The exhibition "Between City Walls and Nature" presents works painted in oil and acrylic, in which old architecture, the element of water, and changing natural motifs intertwine. This is the author's third solo exhibition, featuring both early and recent works.
Warm light falling on historical walls creates a special sense of urban tranquility and longevity on the canvases, while vivid brushstrokes reveal the author's sensitive inner world. As the author herself says, these works are born from a desire to share warmth and coziness, which, along with the paintings, find a place in the homes of those who choose them.
