On Friday, October 2nd, at 8:00 PM, the LDS gallery "Arka" invites you to the opening of the exhibition "Barriers". The exhibition will run from 2026-10-02 to 10-30.
The stream of consciousness moves like separate sentences. One breaks off, another begins in a completely different place. Some return, repeating, changing their meaning. From them, a story gradually forms. Not always consistent, not always consciously told.
Barriers. Although the word itself implies distance or a boundary, it also contains the possibility of a connection. However, this exhibition is a collision of different gestures, places, and experiences. The works located at separate points in the gallery connect like sentences in a single, not always spoken aloud, narrative. Memory here is not a tangible or finished form. It acts more like a hunch, returning through repetitions, imagery, and emotional echoes. Details of everyday life become a way to approach what is not always possible to fully explain. Place and domesticity are inscribed into a personal emotional landscape, and what seems familiar begins to open up as the unknown.
However, it is not only the boundaries between outside and inside, memory and the present that are marked, but also between I and You. Between what can be said and what remains unsaid. The hunches of a question and a non-existent answer. I. You. Between us – barriers. And perhaps it is precisely in them that the possibility of meeting arises.
Exhibition participants: Sandra Kvilytė, Saulius Paliukas, Linas Jurčiukonis, Petras Lincevičius, Benjaminas Ančeris, Lukas Marciulevičius, Karolina Latvytė-Bibiano, Lilija Gotautaitė-Smalinskė, Jovita Aukštikalnytė-Varkulevičienė.
The exhibition is part of the creative program of the "Arka" gallery and the Lithuanian Artists' Association. The organization's activities are funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture. The exhibition will run until October 30th.
