/a two-part play based on Patrick Marber's play "Closer"/
Teatras ATVIRAS RATAS presents a play centered on four strangers, brought together by chance circumstances and led by individual choices into a confrontation of choices—recognizable in real life and dreamily sensed—enveloped in love, lust, personal complexes, and total existential loneliness, which becomes a terrifying nightmare.
The synthesis of theatre, cinema, and music in the play AQUARIUM invites all acquaintances, strangers, the indifferent, the empathetic, the cynical, the disappointed, and the hopeful viewers to RECOGNIZE THEMSELVES IN THE THEATRE.
//--It's a lie. A bunch of sad, beautifully photographed strangers, and all those rich assholes, art connoisseurs, explain how wonderful it is, because that is what they want to see. Those people in the photos are sad and lonely, but the world in the photos looks wonderful. So, the exhibition has a calming effect, which is a complete lie. And what could be more attractive than a big sweet lie?--//
The roles in the play are created by the already well-known and beloved ATVIRAS RATAS creators, theatre and film actors Giedrius Kiela and Judita Urnikytė, young generation actor Matas Pranskevičius, and debuting actress Karolina Kildaitė.
//--Lying is the most fun you can have without taking your clothes off. But it's better if you do.--//
The kaleidoscope of human relationships, constantly highlighted and often uncomfortably questioned in the previous works of director Ieva Stundžytė, will this time be reflected in AQUARIUM.
//--Why isn't love enough?--//
