About this event

With a new flair, the girls from the actress group "Graži ir ta galinga" present an acoustic program of their play-concert "Lietuvos moterys" (Lithuanian Women). This will be the group's first time doing so at the Lukiškės Prison complex.

The group has taken to theater and music stages with the concert version of this program one hundred and fifty times, but this time "Graži ir ta galinga" invites listeners to an intimate meeting where well-known and never-before-heard songs will sound anew.

Five actresses and creators, just a few instruments, and a multitude of Lithuanian historical women's voices will resonate in the works during a unique performance at the Church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker.

What do a Renaissance beauty, a writer with a headscarf, and an interwar seductress have in common? All of them, called someone's wives, mothers, or witches for many years, are storming the stage on February 12th to tell what it means to be a woman in Lithuania.

Alongside Ieva, Asta, Marija, Vaiva, and Rugilė, the stage will feature the feisty Žemaitė, Barbora who cried her eyes out for love, the interwar bandit Teklė, a bunch of witches, a pile of -ienės (married women), our and your grandmothers, and a multitude of other forgotten, beautiful, and powerful women who have earned their place in Lithuanian history. Together, they will tell what today's young Lithuanian women are like and what tradition gave birth to them.

Real, fact-based, and fictional stories will transport the audience of the "Lietuvos moterys" play-concert not only to different historical periods but also to different stages of a woman's life, resonating in different musical styles. Sincere emotion will be replaced by funny stories, and those by fierce irony. Things that cannot be said will be said, and things that are not necessarily funny will be laughed at.

The group promises that the frenzy and flair will heat up hearts, humor and a colorful musical bouquet will clear heads, and the energy radiating from the stage will allow you to be inspired and feel your own power. Bodies will quiver, love will bloom.

We quote the beautiful and the powerful:

"This acoustic program is full of lightness, laughter, and space. Just a few instruments, five powerful women on stage, through whose lips the history of our country's women resonates. An intimate meeting awaits with the incredibly beloved Vilnius audience, who are used to seeing us on a theater stage full of instruments, lights, scenography, and sound. This acoustic role in the capital is special and unique for us, so it is very exciting and highly anticipated."

The Lukiškės Prison stage is the toughest in the Baltic states, and no one will argue with that. It cares about music and culture. The conversion of Lukiškės Prison immediately became a part of history, a cultural phenomenon, and the most successful tourism object in Lithuania. It is one of the true prides of Vilnius, attracting not only locals but also guests from abroad and other tourists. It is impossible to feel the "vibe" of the new version of Lukiškės Prison without having been here. And those who have been confirm – it is something else.

Follow the concert and event calendar. Escape to prison.

The address and gates are clear.
