This year, the whole world is celebrating an important date for the jazz community - the 100th anniversary of John Coltrane, one of the most important jazz performers in jazz history. Although he created for a relatively short time and left this world while still quite young, he had a huge influence on jazz music and its development. His discoveries in musical language, harmony, his contribution to the development of styles, and the development of spirituality, depth, and serious jazz in music history are invaluable. And his saxophone sound and performance technique became a new standard and a high bar for the absolute majority of modern jazz saxophonists around the world. In the era of modern jazz, there is not a single saxophonist who has not been directly or indirectly influenced by Coltrane, and his musical style discoveries have also affected jazz performers playing other instruments.
Of course, we also simply must commemorate this anniversary. And who better to do it than the quartet that has created and performed more than 10 "sold out" concerts dedicated to John Coltrane.
These are Lithuanian jazz masters who need no introduction. Their mastery, level of musical perception and feeling, spiritual depth, and intellect allow them to confidently and competently recreate and interpret the music of the jazz genius.
The first 30 tickets are cheaper.
The "Jazz Cellar 11" club's concert project is partially funded by the Vilnius City Municipality.
