On November 5th, María (Marija Arutiunova) and Vytautas Straižys will create an unforgettable musical journey through the legendary songs of James Bond films at the DOWNTOWN PIANO LAB space, including "Skyfall", "Goldfinger", and many others. This will not be just a standard performance of popular works: the songs will sound new, complemented by unexpected arrangements, colorful harmonies, and subtle improvisations.
María is an exceptional and charismatic soloist, one of the most prominent artists of the Kaunas State Musical Theatre. She has created more than 20 roles, including the title role in the musical "Elisabeth". The performer has won a "Fortūna" award, was nominated for a "Golden Stage Cross", and her voice can be heard in opera, operetta, musicals, popular music, films, animated movies, and series. María's performances are distinguished by technical mastery, emotional power, and exceptional stage presence.
Vytautas Straižys is a pianist who graduated from the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art and completed his master's studies in jazz at the Royal Conservatory in the Netherlands. His work blends jazz, classical music, and improvisation – from the influences of Oscar Peterson, Bill Evans, and Herbie Hancock to Sergei Rachmaninoff and Claude Debussy.
