"Voices and Destinies" is a concert journey through the worlds of female opera characters, where the voice becomes a story, and the story becomes a destiny. Joining the journey are Kamilė Bonté, soloist at the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre, 2022 "Opera Hope" laureate, and 2023 Golden Stage Cross nominee, along with pianist Justas Čeponis.
As the program's creator K. Bonté says, tonight each aria will open a different emotional world – from tenderness and fragility to strength, longing, and drama. On the opera stage, the image of a woman takes on many forms: she can be young and enthusiastic, mature and self-sacrificing, fragilely dreaming or still childlike inside, even mystical or unattainable. However, all these stories share a common denominator – destiny, which often takes a sensitive, and frequently tragic, form.
Young generation Lithuanian opera soloist K. BONTÉ has created roles such as Liu, Marguerite, Mimi, Gabija, Donna Elvira, and Micaëla on the stage of the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theatre. In 2022, she debuted at the Klosterneuburg Opera Festival in Austria, and in 2023, the doors of the "MusikTheater an der Wien" in Vienna opened for her.
J. ČEPONIS is a Lithuanian pianist and opera coach. He has collaborated with international opera soloists, including Asmik Grigorian, Olga Peretyatko, Vida Miknevičiūtė, Edgaras Montvidas, and Lina Dambrauskaitė. As a solo pianist, he performed in Angelin Preljocaj's ballet "Le Parc". Currently, J. Čeponis works regularly as an opera coach in the Netherlands, collaborating with theaters such as "Nederlandse Reisopera" and "Opera Zuid". The pianist holds a master's degree from the Paris Conservatory (CNSMDP).
