A Star of Hope in the Darkness

On September 23, the Miko ir Kipro Petrauskų namai will host the concert "A Star of Hope in the Darkness," dedicated to the memory of Holocaust victims and to honoring Righteous Among the Nations, Alė Sidabraitė (Elena Žalinkevičaitė-Petrauskienė). The concert will bring together the cultural experiences of Lithuania and Israel, and music will become a language of memory, humanity, courage, and hope. The program will be performed by students of VDU Music Academy professors Sabina Martinaitytė and Audronė Eitmanavičiūtė. Performers: Gabrielė Lekaitė Mykolas Mikšys Liepa Dabriškaitė Ugnė Stražnickaitė Greta Zabielaitė Ieva Vaivadaitė Pianists: Vardan Geodakian Domantė Matulevičiūtė Audronė Eitmanavičiūtė The program features songs by Elena Laumenskienė, Stasys Gailevičius, and Viktoras Kuprevičius, composed based on texts by Alė Sidabraitė, as well as works by Jewish composers. Listeners can also look forward to 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁 𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮 – two arias from Ronnie Reshef's opera "When He Was Good" and two songs by Uri Natanel. The concert will also feature 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗽𝗿𝗲𝗺𝗶𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸𝘀 𝗯𝘆 𝗟𝗶𝘁𝗵𝘂𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘀 – Mykolas Natalevičius's song "Piligrimo sapnas" (Pilgrim's Dream) and Liauda Vaitkūnaitė's song "Naktis" (Night) will be performed.
