Performers: RAIMONDAS BUTVILA (violin) ALEXANDER PALEY (piano, USA–France–Lithuania) Program: Part I WOLFGANG AMADEUS MOZART – Sonata for Violin and Piano in C major, K403/385c LUDWIG VAN BEETHOVEN – Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 10 in G major, op. 96 Part II CÉSAR FRANCK – Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major
Former classmates and good friends, who still actively collaborate and create memorable concert programs, the world-renowned piano virtuoso Alexander Paley and the prominent Lithuanian violinist Raimondas Butvila are celebrating their anniversaries together on one stage. The third celebrant of the evening is Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, whose 270th birth anniversary we are commemorating this year.
For this special occasion, the performers have prepared an equally special program for the audience. Selected masterpieces by W. A. Mozart, Ludwig van Beethoven, and César Franck will be performed. W. A. Mozart's Sonata for Violin and Piano in C major is one of the composer's experimental works, which he created as a gift for his wife but did not complete. L. van Beethoven's Sonata for Violin and Piano No. 10 is incredibly calm, often called one of his gentlest works. C. Franck's Sonata for Violin and Piano in A major is one of the most wonderful sonatas for violin and piano ever composed.
Enjoy a program performed with virtuosity by exceptional musicians and a beautiful triple celebration of music and friendship.
