"Couples Therapy" is a one-act psychological comedy about a relationship where patience has run out, but a handful of love still remains.
Eglė (G. Glemžaitė) is a young mother desperately trying to save her family. Tired of crises, insomnia, and the constant cynicism of her husband Marčius (J. Jankevičius), she tricks him into attending "unconventional" couples therapy with a strange but incredibly effective specialist, Algimantas (V. Kaniušonis).
The psychologist does not mince words, and instead of calm conversations, he employs somewhat unconventional treatment methods. Algimantas provokes, manipulates, traumatizes, and heals all at once, all so that the couple might finally speak up, break down, and perhaps… heal.
In the play, laughter meets painful truth, and grotesque situations reveal how often love hides behind anger, irony, and resentment. This is a story about two young parents who can still save their family — if only they dare to hear each other. The creators of the comedy promise that an abundance of absurd situations will invite the audience to laugh a lot and laugh out loud.
