Who wouldn't want to know all of their partner's secrets? What if the Court ordered those secrets to be revealed?
The Court is a wild one-act comedy about marriage, the illusions of long-term relationships, the truth, and everything that gives you away… new underwear.
Suspicious, the Wife (Ineta Stasiulytė) invites her Husband (Kęstutis Cicėnas) over for cottage cheese casserole, but instead of lunch, they end up straight in a courtroom, where they are met by the Judge (Larisa Kalpokaitė).
The search for truth turns into an absurd battle, filled with the most intimate domestic secrets and a pile of accusations. Is having secrets a crime? Who tightens the pickle jars too hard at home? Is a hole in your underwear evidence? Hidden beneath exaggerated emotions and unfounded accusations are real feelings, a longing for love, and deception. The Court will solve them all!
The Court is a comedy full of real, sincere humanity about couples' miscommunication, male logic, female intuition, and the desire to be “right” at any cost. But does true love lie in the truth?
The play invites the audience into a courtroom full of laughter, where no one is guilty – and yet everyone is guilty, because they all want to be loved.
