The concert "Symphonic Ballet for Eight Hands" is a compelling project that synthesizes artistry, movement, and innovative music-making.
This exclusive piano quartet performance features four virtuoso pianists, members of the chamber ensemble "The Inseparable Pianists" – Lukas Gedvilas, Kamilė Zaveckaitė, Lauryna Lankutytė-Levickė, and Gabija Maknavičiūtė-Janavičienė.
Formed fifteen years ago by alumni of the M. K. Čiurlionis School of Art, the quartet reveals itself in this project as a living, breathing organism: the pianists move and pulse as if to a single rhythm, adopting each other's ideas, interacting sensitively, and instantly creating music that becomes like a living symphony born on stage. The ensemble's incredible synchronization and harmonious synergy are revealed to the listeners not only through sound but also visually – through movement, choreographically changing positions, and stage action.
The concert is distinguished by an unusual, deliberately curated repertoire based on the aesthetics of folk dance, ballet, and symphonic thinking. The program weaves together elegant, temperamental, and colorful classical music pieces, creating a rich tapestry of dance melodies and harmonies.
