Light Catchers: an adventure of colors, shadows, and shapes

The National M. K. Čiurlionis Museum of Art (V. Putvinskio St. 55, Kaunas) invites families to an adventure of colors, shadows, and shapes at Barbara Kasten's exhibition "Post-Abstraction". Embark on a creative journey through the world of American artist Barbara Kasten, where light, colors, and geometric figures turn into true artistic wonders. During the educational session, you will learn how, even before the computer era, the artist created impressive kaleidoscopic images using color filters, shadows, grids, and various materials. Inspired by her work, you will experiment with prints, shadow patterns, and stains, creating colorful collaborative compositions and unique "light catchers". Through playful creative tasks, you will explore shapes, identify spatial figures, and discover that art can communicate with mathematics.
