Ukrainian-born and US-based pianist Angelina Gadeliya, praised for her “rich and resonant sound” (The New York Sun) and her ability to “make the music speak” (The Colorado Springs Gazette), will perform at the Kaunas State Philharmonic.

This performer leads an active musical life, concertizing as a soloist and chamber musician, and is a specialist in contemporary music and an educator. Her recent performances include solo and chamber music concerts in venues such as New York’s Alice Tully Hall, Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital and Zankel Halls, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, the Curtis Institute of Music, the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts, as well as prestigious concert halls in Canada, Israel, Mexico, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Ukraine.

As a passionate advocate for contemporary music, A. Gadeliya has presented numerous premieres of new works and collaborates closely with composers such as Frederic Rzewski, Sarah Kirkland Snider, Richard Danielpour, John Adams, Thomas Adès, Steve Reich, Steven Mackey, Daniel Bjarnason, and John Harbison.

This year, the pianist is releasing two new albums: “The Celestial Circus: Piano Music of Richard Danielpour” and an album dedicated to early solo and chamber works by Fryderyk Chopin and Maria Szymanowska.

For the Kaunas Philharmonic audience, A. Gadeliya will present a curated program where, alongside charming miniatures by F. Chopin and Karol Szymanowski and illustrative works by Ukrainian composers, Lithuanian opuses—pieces by Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and Vytautas Bacevičius—will also find their place.
