Straw garden tying workshop
About this event
In December 2023, the tradition of tying straw gardens was included in the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity.
It is worth continuing this tradition in every family. I invite you to a workshop. We will learn how to tie a straw garden, which you will be able to use to decorate your home. We will learn how to prepare straw in the summer.
Materials for the educational session are included.
We will have time to chat over a cup of tea.
It will be possible to purchase straw for the creations you wish to make at home.
The sessions are led by traditional craft master and artist Vilhelmina Raubaitė-Mikelionienė. Her straw gardens, ornaments, stars, garlands, and wrist warmers have been awarded the National Heritage Certificate. The author organizes exhibitions and conducts training for students and adults.
