S-E-D / Sharon Eyal Dance Company · France / Israel
Sharon Eyal's work is an experience that cannot be explained, only lived. People remember her performances for years. "Delay the Sadness" is the most personal of them all.
One of the most influential contemporary dance choreographers presents a piece born from the most painful experience – the loss of her mother. Eight dancers speak with their bodies what words cannot: breathing, moving, stopping. Characterized by physical intensity and precise movement, Eyal creates a hypnotic space where sadness becomes a strength and death becomes a part of life.

Sharon Eyal | Gai Behar
Sharon Eyal is one of the most prominent voices in contemporary dance in the world. Her works are physically intense, precise to the point of trembling, and inexplicably hypnotic. Founded in 2013 together with her long-time partner Gai Behar, the S-E-D company has become one of the most anticipated dance companies in the world. From the Paris Opera to Sadler’s Wells, from Nederlands Dans Theater to Barcelona – Eyal's creative voice resonates on all the world's most important stages. More than fifty works, prestigious awards – FEDORA VAN CLEEF & ARPELS, the Faust Award, the Dutch Dance Days Grand Prix – and the rank of Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters granted by the French Ministry of Culture testify to a unique artist who redefines what it means to dance and feel.
