A particularly poetic concert program dedicated to the Lithuanian Horace – the poet Matthias Casimir Sarbiewski (1595–1640), inviting the audience to enjoy the intricacy and beauty of his verses and to savor the Baroque era. The early music ensemble "Šviesotamsa" presents music from the environment of M. K. Sarbiewski's life. Music and poetry will intertwine through the sounds of the "Song of Songs," pastorals (on the theme of Silviludia), and odes to the Blessed Virgin Mary and Jesus.

17th-century poet M. K. SARBIEWSKI is considered one of the most prominent European poets writing in Latin. Although born in Poland, his life is most closely associated with Lithuania. In this concert program, the poet's verses are presented to the public for the first time alongside music of his era, closely related to his life's surroundings, marking three decades and locations of his life. The sounds of music seem to weave a dialogue between M. K. Sarbiewski's texts and his epoch. As M. K. Sarbiewski departs from Vilnius, Renaissance creators associated with Lithuanian rulers are presented: Diomedes Cato, Jan Brant, Giovanni Battista Cocciola, Teodoro Riccio; and as he is welcomed in Rome, the works of early Baroque composers – Virgilio Mazzocchi, Giovanni Battista Fontana, Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Francesca Caccini – are performed. For M. K. Sarbiewski, already famous in Rome and called to serve as a preacher at the court of Władysław Vasa, the program features compositions by creators Francesco Anerio and Aldebrando Subissati, who also worked at the Vasa court.
