What is it about?

The goal of the course is to teach people about a mature understanding of death, to provide the knowledge and skills necessary to properly prepare for the death of a loved one or one's own death.

Target group - people who have had or will have to be with someone who is dying. The seminar is not only for medical professionals, but they also receive a lot of valuable information.

Why is it important?

Approaching death raises many complex questions that are difficult to even think about. Moreover, in Lithuania, the topic of death is still a taboo. People like to remain calm and brave in a critical situation; for this, it is important to have the knowledge and skills that listeners will gain during the “conscious farewell” course.

After attending the “conscious farewell” course, you will make fewer painful mistakes and save precious time and nerves.

PROGRAM:

Assumptions. As living standards and medicine improve, more and more people are living longer than before. An aging society is a serious challenge for health and social service systems. We will discuss how to prepare for a situation where the needs of the dying will need to be taken care of by society, rather than doctors and nurses.

Mature understanding of death. How we act depends on what we believe. It will be explained scientifically and clearly what a mature understanding of death is and why it is important for an adult.

Advance directives. Very clear advice will be given on what to pay attention to before death, how not to get lost in a chaos of thoughts, and how to talk about approaching death with loved ones and medical staff.

Towards death: symptoms and their management. Death has early and late signs that have their own patterns. By understanding the laws of death, one can anticipate the appearance of symptoms and prepare for them.

Rituals and their importance. What influence do rituals have on the grieving process? How to plan a funeral? Important nuances of saying goodbye.

The seminar consists of 2 parts of 2 hours each with a short break in between.
