One of the most prominent voices in contemporary European music, Eurovision winner, and recipient of long-standing recognition from millions of people, Salvador Sobral will hold two concerts on the major stages of Vilnius and Kaunas this December.
On December 11 (Friday), the artist, together with his European tour team, will perform at the Kaunas Sports Hall, and on December 12 (Saturday), he will hold a concert at the Compensa Concert Hall in Vilnius.
“A Flor do Recomeço” Tour
The Lithuanian audience will be among the first to be presented not only with the most prominent works of the artist's career but also with the music from his new album, “A Flor do Recomeço”. This is a special project, recorded in São Paulo together with famous Brazilian composers and musicians, revealing an even deeper and more mature side of Salvador Sobral's work. On stage, the artist will be accompanied by an international group of top-tier musicians, together creating an intimate, aesthetic, and exceptionally emotional concert atmosphere. Salvador Sobral's concerts in Lithuania will undoubtedly become one of the most subtle and musical concert events of this season.
Portuguese singer Salvador Sobral presents his first album consisting entirely of works by Brazilian composers. The album “A Flor do Recomeço” (“The Flower of Rebirth”) was recorded in São Paulo and produced by Brazilians Marcus Preto and Tó Brandileone.
The album features an exclusive collection of previously unheard works, created specifically for Sobral by such renowned artists as Adriana Calcanhotto, Arnaldo Antunes, Chico César, Céu, Marcelo Camelo, Mallu Magalhães, Marcos Valle, and Tim Bernardes. The album title comes from a poem by writer Eveline Sin, for which Chico César composed the music.
According to Sobral, this project became an extremely personal journey back to his musical roots: “I am convinced that music was born in Brazil. I grew up listening to Maria Bethânia in my mother's car, and Chico César's music played at my father's. This album was born from the need to return to the very essence, to get to know and discover the timeless sounds of this side of the Atlantic even more deeply,” says the singer.
Together with top-tier Brazilian musicians – Tiago Costa (piano), Fábio Sá (double bass), Conrado Goys (guitar), Sergio Machado (drums), and Felipe Roseno (percussion) – Sobral emphasizes that the most important goal was authenticity, not imitation: “Our goal was not to create a ‘Brazilian album’, but an album of works by Brazilian composers, performed by Brazilian musicians and sung by a Portuguese person. Otherwise, we would risk becoming a caricature of Brazilian music with a strange accent,” shares the star.
After an intense period of rehearsals and recording in Brazil, Sobral describes the final result as a sound that is “cohesive and respectful to the essence of each unique composition.”
Salvador Sobral: A Symbol of Musical Sensitivity and Uniqueness
The Portuguese singer gained global recognition in 2017 after winning the Eurovision contest with the subtle and emotional ballad “Amar pelos dois”. This piece captivated millions of listeners with its simplicity, deep emotional expression, and sincerity. Sobral became a contrast to traditional pop music – he showed that quiet, sincere music can reach the deepest corners of the heart. Unlike many participants and winners of the famous contest, Sobral managed to win the hearts of listeners and has been creating and revealing the most beautiful depths of music for almost a decade.
Unique Music and Artistic Approach
Sobral's music combines elements of jazz, bossa nova, and contemporary pop music. His voice is not just an instrument, but a carrier of emotions, characterized by special warmth and the ability to tell stories. Salvador's work stands out for its subtle harmony, improvisation, and intimacy – every concert becomes a unique experience as the singer engages in the magic of the moment and creates what feels like a dialogue with the audience.
Sobral is also famous for his authenticity and sincerity – he is not afraid to show human vulnerability and sensitivity, which allows his music to resonate not just with the ears, but with the heart.
