Beer production qualification courses for obtaining a license
Beer production qualification courses for obtaining a license are announced according to a training program intended for persons managing and carrying out technological processes in a company producing up to 5,000 hectoliters of beer per year.
The program is coordinated with the Ministry of Agriculture and the State Food and Veterinary Service.
Training program
Upon completing the training under this program, participants will:
be introduced to the history of beer production and the basic principles of brewing;
know beer types, styles, and their characteristics;
understand beer production technological processes – malt preparation, wort production, boiling, fermentation, maturation, filtration, and bottling;
be able to select and evaluate raw materials used in beer production: malt, hops, yeast, and water;
understand the principles of production planning and organization;
understand the requirements for quality control and technological process management;
know the principles of good hygiene practice and their application in beer production;
understand food safety, occupational safety, and health requirements;
be introduced to the legal acts regulating the production of alcoholic beverages in Lithuania.
Qualification requirements
According to the Order No. B1-408 of the Director of the State Food and Veterinary Service dated September 10, 2002, "On the Approval of Qualification Requirements for Personnel of Alcohol Product Manufacturing Companies," a person responsible for the technological process in an alcohol product manufacturing company producing up to 5,000 hectoliters of beer per year must have higher, advanced, or special secondary education (acquired before 1995) in the fields of food technology, biotechnology, food studies, chemistry, biochemistry, or biology, or hold a beer production course completion certificate issued by an educational institution or another legal or natural person conducting training according to a training program coordinated and approved by the Agricultural Agency under the Ministry of Agriculture.
Training organization
The courses will be held in a hybrid format:
theoretical lectures will take place remotely via the "Microsoft Teams" platform;
practical sessions will take place in Kaunas.
Start of training
August 17, 2026.
Remote lectures will take place from August 17–21, 2026, starting at 18:00.
Practical training in Kaunas will take place on August 22–23, 2026, in Kaunas. Dates may be subject to change.

Number of places is limited. Registration is open until the group is formed. Upon completion of the training, a beer production course completion certificate is issued.
