"Čiurlionis' Notes" is a poetic puppet theatre performance for adults, inviting you to embark on an inner journey of one of Lithuania's most prominent artists – Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis. The play does not tell a biography in the traditional sense. It opens up a sensitive world where the creator's thoughts, imagination, doubts, loneliness, love, and an irresistible desire to create merge.

What lies behind the brilliant creator's paintings, music, and legend? Is it possible to know a person solely from their biographical dates, or does the true story begin where the facts end?

On stage, actors, puppets, objects, music, light, and colors create a space where reality intertwines with fantasy. Motifs from Čiurlionis' work become not an illustration, but a living stage world, allowing one to experience what a person who saw the world differently than most might have felt.

The play raises universal questions: what does it mean to be exceptional? What is the price of creativity? Does genius liberate, or does it condemn one to loneliness? In seeking answers, the creators invite the audience to recognize not only the legendary artist but also themselves – their fears, dreams, sensitivity, and the desire to leave a mark on the world.

This performance is an international project between Georgia and the Kaunas State Puppet Theatre, where different theatrical traditions meet, and a universal stage language allows for a fresh look at the personality of M. K. Čiurlionis. "Čiurlionis' Notes" is a living encounter with a man whose imagination still inspires us to see reality as a mysterious, fragile, and wonder-filled universe.
