"The Three Tenors" later performed on the world's largest stages, and their performances were associated with the 1994, 1998, and 2002 World Cups. The recording of the first Rome concert became one of the most famous classical music releases in history – sources cite it as the best-selling classical music album of all time. Now, two members of this legendary trio – José Carreras and Plácido Domingo – will meet in Kaunas.

Barcelona-born José Carreras built his international career by singing in the world's most important opera houses. Italian romantic and verismo opera occupied a special place in his repertoire, and his unique vocal timbre and temperament made him one of the most famous tenors of his generation.

Carreras' life story is also inseparable from an extraordinary personal struggle. In 1987, at the peak of his career, he was diagnosed with leukemia. After intensive treatment, the performer recovered and returned to the stage. This experience changed his life: in 1988, Carreras founded the international José Carreras Leukemia Foundation, dedicated to fighting the disease and supporting scientific research.

The 1990 concert in Rome became the symbol of his return. Carreras has recounted that the very idea of bringing the world's three most popular tenors together on one stage originated with him. From a one-evening idea, a phenomenon was born that brought classical music closer to a massive global audience.

Plácido Domingo is considered one of the most versatile personalities in the history of opera: a singer, conductor, opera house director, and patron of young talent. Over a career spanning more than half a century, his repertoire has grown to more than 150 roles, and he has appeared on stage more than 4,000 times. Alongside his singing career, Domingo has conducted more than 600 performances and concerts, managed opera institutions, and founded the international young opera singers competition "Operalia".

His discography includes more than a hundred operas, arias, duets, and other recordings, and his creative achievements have been recognized with 12 Grammy Awards, including three Latin Grammys. Domingo has also won two Emmy Awards.
