On July 2nd, Monika Liu will perform for the first time under the open sky at the Kaunas Song Festival Valley (Dainų slėnis). And she will be appearing with a large ensemble. One so big that it sometimes barely fits on stage!

Monika Liu is coming to Kaunas with "Los Secretos de Pablo". A group of musicians and friends with whom she will soon release a joint album, "Šešėliai lange". This is a project born not out of nostalgia, but out of curiosity about the past. Out of a desire to look at the songs of our grandparents' and great-grandparents' time not as museum exhibits, but as living, pulsating material that still has something to say today. Songs about love, longing, dreams, light, and people who lived lives no less colorful than our own.

These pieces are reborn anew – sometimes they resemble a film soundtrack, sometimes a summer dream, sometimes a party where several generations meet at once. The arrangements by Liutauras Janušaitis and Jievaras Jasinskis do not rewrite history here, but allow it to sound anew. In such a way that there is room for our own stories alongside the memories of our grandparents.

Of course, the songs that thousands of us love Monika Liu for will also ring out in the Song Festival Valley. "Sentimentai", "Šampanas (bul bul bul)", "Kodėl Tu Čia?", "Vaikinai Trumpais Šortais", and other tracks that contain an entire life – from heartbreak to dancing. Because at Monika's concerts, everything happens at once: you can laugh, you can get teary-eyed, you can sing at the top of your lungs, you can dance, and a minute later reflect on something very personal.
