Linas Kaziulionis' performance "Leaked Stories"

Is it possible to paint the chaos of information? Fake news, contradictory messages, facts mixed with fiction – in the stream of information, it sometimes becomes difficult to understand what to believe and where reality ends. At the "Disconnected" (Be ryšio) Storytelling Festival, painter Linas Kaziulionis will create live while listening to a story about fake news, information gaps, and the loss of connection. During the "Leaked Stories" performance, a painting emerging on a large-format wooden panel will change along with the story being heard. The work will be created using a pouring technique – colors will flow, merge, and bleed into one another. This process will resemble an uncontrollable stream of information where facts mix with fiction, and separating them becomes increasingly difficult. Linas Kaziulionis is a painter whose works have been presented in Lithuania, New York, Chicago, Paris, as well as in public spaces in India, Denmark, and Sweden. In 2022, the artist won the Baltic "Young Painter Prize."
