About this event
We invite you on a culinary journey through the GDL! The "GDL Cuisine" excursion-tasting reveals what the rulers, nobles, gentry, townspeople, and peasants of Lithuania ate and drank. A 1-hour tour of medieval Kaunas (Old Town) awaits you, followed by a 1.5-2 hour tasting while listening to stories about 13th-18th century Lithuanian cuisine. Dishes prepared especially for this tasting by the tavern “Antis rūsy” according to old recipes: Homemade kvass Homemade bread with curd and herb spread Crayfish tail and beer soup Pork chunk with oven-baked potatoes and a special horseradish sauce. If there are vegetarians, please mark this when purchasing tickets. We offer them vegetarian lasagna. Gingerbread with tea
