KKC Art Studio "Vaivorykštė" – 80

This year, the Kaunas Cultural Centre art studio "Vaivorykštė" celebrates its 80th anniversary. It is the oldest continuously operating adult art studio in Lithuania, having brought together people passionate about creativity for eight decades. On October 15, we invite you to a jubilee event where communities from different adult art studios in Lithuania will meet. During the event, exhibitions from three art studios operating in Kaunas, Jurbarkas, and Zarasai will be opened, a discussion titled "Amateur or Creator?" will take place, and the evening will conclude with a reunion of memories with the people who created and nurtured "Vaivorykštė" throughout its different periods of existence.

PROGRAM: 3:30 PM Visiting exhibitions and meeting the authors: Miniature exhibition by the Jurbarkas art studio "Formos kalba", operating at the Vincas Grybas Memorial Museum. Head: Rasa Grybaitė. (1st-floor foyer); Exhibition by the adult group of the Zarasai Faustas Latėnas Art School. (Head: Petronė Sekonienė) (2nd-floor foyer); Painting exhibition by the Kaunas Cultural Centre art studio "Vaivorykštė". Head: Agnietė Janušaitė-Vitkūnienė. (Small Hall) 4:30 PM Opening of the art studio exhibitions. (Small Hall) 5:30 PM Discussion "Amateur or Creator?" (Small Hall) Participants: Dr. Rasa Andriušytė-Žukienė, art historian; Valentinas Jezerskas, member of the Art Council of the Kaunas Community of the Lithuanian Folk Artists' Association; Edvinas Batulevičius, head of the "Naujas meno centras"; Oksana Judakova, outsider art researcher and curator; Eleonora Čepulienė, long-time member of the art studio "Vaivorykštė". 6:30 PM Coffee break. 7:00 PM Evening of memories "Conversation with the creators of VAIVORYKŠTĖ" (Small Hall) Participants include former studio heads: Edmundas Saladžius; Gražina Kuprevičienė; Asta Vandytė; studio members and friends.
