Kaunas fair "autumn 2026"
The Kaunas Fair "Autumn 2026" will return to the center of Kaunas from September 25th to 27th, inviting residents and city guests to spend three days in a celebration filled with creativity, traditions, music, and community spirit. The event will take place on Laisvės alėja and Vilniaus gatvė, where artisans, folk artists, creators, merchants, and culinary heritage enthusiasts from all over Lithuania will gather. Throughout the fair, visitors will not only be able to purchase handmade goods but also watch traditional craft demonstrations, learn about the creative process, try out various craft techniques, and taste culinary heritage products. This year's fair places special emphasis on live culture and diverse experiences. The main fair stage near the City Garden will host a music and dance program featuring young performers, folklore ensembles, contemporary music groups, as well as blues, jazz, and world music artists. Among the highlights of the program are Rokas Kašėta, the group "Kūjeliai", "Shower Songs", "Dancing the Blues", and a rich marathon of concerts by children's and youth groups on Sunday. In the retro area by the fountain, visitors will find a program of jazz, swing, rock, and retro music, while street performers will play throughout the fairgrounds. One of the most important highlights of the event will be the attempt to set a Lithuanian record – to bake and present the largest apple pie in Lithuania, measuring 100 meters long. The record attempt will take place on September 25th at 4:00 PM near the Kaunas City Municipality. This initiative is being implemented in cooperation with the Kaunas Food Industry and Trade Training Center, whose students and teachers will contribute to the realization of this project. After the official record is recorded, the pie will be shared with fair participants and visitors. For active leisure enthusiasts, there is a Roller Skating Area near the Kaunas City Municipality. It will host educational and practical activities for beginners and advanced skaters, demonstration performances, evening roller discos, and a traditional roller skate parade through the streets of Kaunas. In the family area near the Vytautas the Great monument, various activities for children, youth, and parents will take place throughout the weekend. Visitors will be able to participate in traditional outdoor games, relay races, educational activities, creative workshops, robotics sessions, drawing, ceramics, glass decoration, and other activities. In the talent and creativity space, initiatives by young creators will be presented, and creative workshops and educational sessions will be organized. The "Kaunas Creates" photo wall will become a collective art installation that every event participant can contribute to. Sustainability ideas will be fostered by the Upcycling Workshops, inviting visitors to learn about creative recycling, responsible consumption, and environmental principles. In the public organizations area, non-governmental organizations, volunteer initiatives, communities, and organizations working in the fields of public health, civic engagement, and security will present their activities. On September 26th at 1:00 PM, the line SOLO dance festival "Dancing Kaunas 2026", organized by the sports dance club "Junda", will take place in Vienybės aikštė. The festival will bring together dance enthusiasts from various Lithuanian cities. The participants' procession along Laisvės alėja from the Kaunas City Municipality to Vienybės aikštė and a joint dance will become one of the most colorful spectacles of the fair weekend. Kaunas Fair "Autumn 2026" is a celebration of traditions, creativity, music, flavors, and community, inviting you to discover Lithuanian crafts, culture, and contemporary creativity in the very heart of Kaunas. The program is still being updated. The final event program will be announced 10 days before the event.
