The legendary group "Kastaneda" returns: after more than a decade – a one-off show at Žalgirio Arena on November 14 (Saturday)

After a break of more than a decade, the legendary group "Kastaneda" is returning for a single, unforgettable evening – on November 14, one of the most prominent concerts of the year will take place at the Kaunas Žalgirio Arena, featuring the group's greatest hits and fan-favorite songs.

"Sombrero", "Myliu", "Vakar vakare", "Truputį laimės", "Kelyje Vilnius – Kaunas", "Mūsų fiestos", "Pavasaris viską pakeis", "Vasarą įsimylėjau", "Nesiparink", "Laikas", "Viskas ko reikia" and many other tracks will for one night transport the audience back to the times when "Kastaneda" was one of the most beloved party bands in Lithuania. The group promises not only nostalgia but also an impressive show, the biggest party of the year with live sound, unexpected duets, modern audio and visual solutions, and the emotions that once accompanied almost every one of their concerts. The group was formed in 2002 and became an instant hit with the song "Vakar vakare". At the time, the duo consisted of performers Lukas Pačkauskas and Romanas Njejelovas-Kipishas, and in 2006, the latter was replaced by Donatas Baumila.

A comeback after a long break brings up many emotions for the group members themselves – from nostalgia to pleasant excitement. Both performers admit that although there is still time until the concert, their thoughts are already revolving around the upcoming evening.

"Everything seems so incredible, but the desire is greater than ever. Memories are coming back, all the concert tours, crowds of people, the euphoria of performing in every corner of Lithuania. That time was wonderful – we were living a dream. And all of that will return for one single night," says Donatas Baumila.

"The feelings are very interesting and there are certainly a lot of them, knowing that this will be a huge show after many years. There is excitement, joy, even a little bit of fear, but we are especially looking forward to this evening and sincerely invite everyone," says Lukas Pačkauskas.

The group members do not hide the fact that "Kastaneda" was not just a simple musical project for them, but an extremely important stage of their lives. "Many years ago, the stage was a part of our lives – we would get on it very often. Crowds of people no longer surprised us, but the adrenaline would always skyrocket. It was a very good feeling," recalls L. Pačkauskas.

Donatas reveals that the stage and music had been a dream for him since his teenage years, and joining "Kastaneda" became one of the most important events of his life.

"Even as a teenager in school, I used to dream about the stage. When I first saw Lukas on the stage of the Sports Palace, I was maybe in the tenth grade, and I told my friends: 'Wow, I would like to perform with this guy.' About eight years later, I became part of 'Kastaneda' and it was a dream come true. Every minute in the studio, on set, on stage, or on the road to a concert was extraordinary," recalls D. Baumila.

According to the performers, the upcoming concert will not be limited to just nostalgia or performing old hits. A show is being prepared at the "Žalgirio" Arena that will not lack surprises, visual solutions prepared specifically for this evening, and guest performers.

"There are a lot of thoughts and plans in my head, but one thing is clear – we want this to be an evening that people will not forget for a long time. 'Kastaneda' knows how to do that – there were times when we lived for it, and those times are coming back," says L. Pačkauskas.

"Our best songs live, the warmest emotions, dancers, sound and light effects, the most unexpected duets – all of this will merge into one unforgettable show, the concert of a lifetime, which everyone present at the Žalgirio Arena will become a part of," says D. Baumila.

Although the group's active career stopped many years ago, "Kastaneda's" work remains popular among listeners to this day, and the old hits are being discovered by a new generation. New interpretations and remixes of the group's tracks are appearing more and more frequently on social networks and music platforms.

"It is truly gratifying to hear that people remember, listen, and even remake the tracks into modern-sounding dance hits. We created them primarily for ourselves. The music, the lyrics – it's about us, we lived it, we listened to it ourselves, danced to it, and, probably, for many people, it was and still is relatable," says D. Baumila.

The concert is organized by the music project agency "Pepper Live".
