It usually stood in the living room like a promise – of culture, a better future for the children, and cozier evenings. Over time, this promise faded, expanding the fate of old instruments into unexpected trajectories: gathering dust at home or carried out into stairwells and courtyards, they became decorative accents, merely reminding us of their long-standing practical purpose. "Compost" begins where the history of instruments usually ends. Three rejected pianos, distanced from their usual sound and appearance, become a fabric that, as it slowly decomposes, nourishes and creates new life: three performers sonically transport the listener into a mystical space containing Lithuanian folk motifs. Within it, a dialogue begins between those who usually shy away from one another. A circus artist juggles and balances between the instruments, blending into the musical process, while stage movement and the sound produced create a space for the gentle blossoming of these means of expression. As a result, the entire stage turns into a playground where objects change their primary function, and performative body language becomes the connecting link that unites all these elements. This is a sonic fairy tale based on play and folklore motifs about our relationship with the environment, objects, and cultural symbols that surround us, opening a space to ask: what can grow when we allow our perspective on symbols to change?
