Gabrielė Aleksė's exhibition "Frequency 7"

The solo exhibition "Frequency 7" presents new, previously unseen paintings created as the artist explores the relationship between binaural beats and perception, visual imagination, and the creative process. The starting point of the exhibition is the 7 Hz rhythm, which corresponds to the theta brainwave range and is associated with hypnagogia, dreams, and deep relaxation. In the exhibition, 7 Hz becomes not so much a number as a threshold into more difficult-to-define territories of experience. Through motifs of gates, windows, empty rooms, the horizon, and light, the boundary between external and internal experience, between a sharp edge and a gentle transition, is explored. The painting is complemented by a spatial installation. In a specially equipped listening space, visitors will be able to listen to a recording of binaural beats, which became one of the creative starting points for this exhibition. Gabrielė Aleksė (b. 1990) is a painter who earned a Master's degree in painting from the Vilnius Academy of Arts in 2015. Her work has been presented in solo exhibitions in Lithuania and France, as well as at international art fairs such as "POSITIONS Berlin" and "Art Central Hong Kong". In 2026, the artist's works were included in "Artsy Foundations" – an annual review of emerging talent.

The exhibition is partially funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Lithuanian Artists' Association. The exhibition will be on view at the "Meno parkas" gallery until October 2nd.
