Davide De Ascaniis - violin / electric violin (Italy) Alessandro Fiorentin - vocals / keyboards (Italy)
"From Baroque to Rock" - an exclusive performance presenting a unique synthesis of classical and other genres in its only concert in Lithuania. Taking place on July 10, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Kaunas Cultural Centre, the Italian duo's performance breaks away from standard classical music norms, combining various musical styles with reflecting visual elements.
The creators and performers of the program - violinist Davide De Ascaniis, often called the reincarnation of Paganini due to his virtuoso technique, appears on stage with three violins: acoustic, electric, and carbon fiber. Alessandro Fiorentin, dubbed the "Italian Freddie Mercury" by the Italian newspaper ANSA, complements the musical action with his unique vocals and piano accompaniment. The combinations of instruments and voice discovered by Davide and Alessandro allow them to perform a wide repertoire where classical virtuosity meets jazz, rock, pop, and improvisation.
The "From Baroque to Rock" project was born out of a desire to attract a younger audience or those who less frequently attend academic music concerts. Not confined by the boundaries of classical music, the performers create something for everyone – from the experienced classical listener, rocker, teenager, or curious pilgrim.
The project is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture and the Saulius Karosas Support and Charity Foundation.
