Photography laboratory with Matas Laužadis at the "Post-abstraction" exhibition.

On September 23rd and 29th at 5:00 PM, the National M. K. Čiurlionis Art Museum (V. Putvinskio St. 55, Kaunas) invites you to a photography workshop with Matas Laužadžis at the "Post-abstraction" exhibition. Let us see, touch, and get to know creativity through silver. During these creative photography workshops, we will have the opportunity to get acquainted with photography in the way it was worked with not only by the author of this exhibition, Barbara Kasten, but also by photographers ranging from Joseph Nicéphore Niépce to today's analog photography enthusiasts. We will analyze space, photographic planes, and composition, and discuss what large format is, what possibilities it provides, and what kind of connection we establish with it, taking into account the content felt by the exhibition's author. We will work with an alternative photographic process called "direct positive." We will photograph the museum's spaces and develop the resulting photographs in an on-site laboratory, discussing the results together. This will be an opportunity not only to learn about the photographic process but also to experience it firsthand – from taking the shot to the emergence of the final image. Duration: 2 hours.
