Folklore workshops for families

We invite families with children aged 3–6 to have a fun time at the discovery-filled Lithuanian folk folklore workshops "Krepštu, krepštu katinėlį". The sessions will take place from September 23 to November 25, every Wednesday at 5:30 PM at the Z. Kuzmickis branch of the Kaunas Vincas Kudirka Public Library, Raseinių St. 26. During the workshops, we will embark on a colorful world of Lithuanian traditions, where old circle dances, games, songs, fun competitions, and puppet theater performances await. Do you know how children used to play in the past? How they knew how to have fun together by singing, dancing, competing, and playing various games? We will try all of this ourselves. The workshops will be led by Kristina Kliucevičiūtė-Mikulskienė, an ethnographer at the Samylai Cultural Center in the Kaunas district and leader of the folklore ensemble "Samylų senoliai" and the children's and youth folklore ensemble "Kubuldynas". The project "Open Creative Workshops 'Etnosodas' VII" is funded by the Lithuanian Council for Culture.
