"The sisters are setting up many flower beds in the churchyard. This year's flower beds will be especially beautiful," wrote the interwar press about these sisters' homes located behind a high brick wall.

Having begun its history exactly four hundred years ago, full of difficulties, trials, and losses, the Kaunas Benedictine Sisters' Monastery is being rewarded with unexpected discoveries. The life of the monastery is shrouded in legends, but each of them contains at least a grain of truth.

St. Nicholas Church is considered one of the most successful examples of modern ecclesiastical art in interwar Lithuania.
