After an incredible performance in Kaunas, world-renowned star André Rieu is returning to Lithuania – on June 2, 2027, the famous Dutch violinist and conductor will treat fans to unforgettable music and a spectacular show at the Kaunas Žalgiris Arena.
Having sold more than 40 million albums and delighting over 700,000 spectators at concerts worldwide every year, A. Rieu is undoubtedly one of the most successful live performers. His concerts take place annually in sold-out arenas from Chile to Abu Dhabi, and next summer he will bring his music to the Lithuanian audience as well.
"Lithuania holds a special place in my heart. The warmth and enthusiasm of the audience in this country are truly unique. I cannot wait to return next year and share the joy of music with you all again!" says Rieu.
In 2027, the audience in Kaunas will be able to enjoy a romantic program featuring music from operas and musicals, film scores, timeless hits, traditional melodies, and, of course, waltzes. André Rieu's concerts enchant not only with captivating music but also with his charisma and humor-filled stage performance. Impressive costumes, magnificent scenography, and spectacular lighting attract viewers of all ages to A. Rieu's concerts.
The Dutchman proves through his career that the line between classical and popular music can be erased. He will return to Lithuania with his legendary 60-piece Johann Strauss Orchestra, which he founded, and promises a concert full of surprises and sincere emotions. As he says himself: "Emotions are the basis of everything! If music touches my heart, I know it will touch yours too."
A. Rieu has made classical music accessible to millions of people around the world and popularized the waltz – even in football stadiums, thousands of spectators have swayed to the melodies of Shostakovich. His concerts are a breathtaking spectacle: the orchestra and soloists come from sixteen different countries, André has his own costume designers, and even four traveling stages. He and his orchestra also have a personal trainer, a doctor, and three chefs.
André Rieu was born in Maastricht, Netherlands, into a family of musicians. He is the world's most successful violinist and the best-selling classical music artist of all time. His father conducted the Limburg Symphony Orchestra, and André himself began playing the violin at just five years old. In 1978, he formed his first ensemble – the Maastricht Salon Orchestra, which in 1987 became the Johann Strauss Orchestra – the largest private orchestra in the world.
A. Rieu has more than 20 million followers on social media, and his YouTube videos have been viewed over a billion times. As commentators state: "André Rieu's music is not just for one evening, but for a lifetime!"
