DESCRIPTION:
9th Fort. Through the tunnels. A journey through time.
Guided tour by RIMUTĖ:
Like a journey through time, covering more than one decade full of events.
Behind the massive, creaking metal doors lie mysterious-looking underground communication galleries. We travel through labyrinths of tunnels, accompanied by stories about the history of the Kaunas Fortress, its assault, visiting crew shelters, inspecting the drinking water well and ammunition depots. And all this—underground!
"Concrete bag", "The Wet One", "The Resort"—what are these?!
We will also pass through the doors that became fateful during the legendary escape of prisoners (corpse burners) from the fort. This fort is not just a defensive fortification. Its history bears witness to the fates of prisoners and victims of the Holocaust...
